Baby Herschberger: Week 31

I’m done working!! It was a busy, but good last week. I ended up going to the office 4/5 days, doing 2 photo shoots on Tuesday and 2 photo shoots over the weekend! Thank goodness I’m not working next week because I have a bunch of editing to do and a couple more photo shoots scheduled!

It was a weird week at work since I was mostly done training my replacement, just spent some time going through the rest of my digital files and helping/answering questions as needed. Other than that I was also finishing up various projects related to inauguration and homecoming. I had so many moments where my co-workers were discussing or working on future projects and I felt torn between giving my two cents and just staying out of it since I wouldn’t be here to actually help implement. In most cases I went ahead and gave my two cents, haha. Hopefully that didn’t drive everyone nuts. :)

I got some fun new photography toys this week! I got an Alien Bee flash/stand and a giant Westcott soft box to use with it. The main purpose right away is to use it with newborns but I think it will also work with small families. I also got my camera back from the factory service center and I was nervous because the note talked about replacing some sort of computer chip because the display was malfunctioning, but it wasn’t just the display, the actual pictures were messed up when I imported them! But I used it all weekend and had no problems so I think it’s good to go!

We figured out the fuel gage on the Envoy was messed up, so me running out of gas twice wasn’t me being a dumb girl/prego brain. :) On Tuesday I went out to grab lunch for myself and a few co-workers and on the way back to the office the fuel light came on and there was a dinging noise (which I don’t ever recall hearing the two times I ran out of gas) so I went straight to a gas station and filled up, although it seemed like the pump clicked off sooner than other times I’ve filled up from empty. Anywho, I drove home that night, then on the way to work the next morning my fuel gage said I had a 1/4 tank. What?! It was then that I remembered reading about fuel gage issues with Envoy’s when we were looking at this vehicle so I texted Kyle and asked him to look into it. Sure enough it’s a common problem so we got it into the shop the next day, they confirmed the issue, and then fixed it!

I had some really lovely photo shoots this week. I can’t wait to dive into editing them AND I’d like to start doing short blog posts about each photo shoot!

Another great birth class this week! We learned about the different hormones involved with pregnancy and childbirth, practiced breathing, learned about the birthing ball and birthing stool, talked more about water birth, and learned some good positions for labor.

Weight gain: Same old, same old. About 20 lbs over pre-pregnancy weight.

What I’ve been eating: I have to eat breakfast almost as soon as I get up or I start feeling sick. I’m also getting fuller faster. I got a cookbook called “Don’t panic! Dinner’s in the freezer.” which I plan to use when I get around to making freezer meals. Well, the mere presence of that book in our house has inspired Kyle to use up what we already have in our freezer so we’ve been eating some yummy soups that my sister-in-law made and gave us when they moved almost a year ago.

Baby/pregnancy purchases: I got my next batch of Old Navy maternity clothes, a pair of comfy yoga pants, a sweater, and a denim skirt. I think I really am done buying maternity clothes, haha. I’d love more, but I don’t think I need more. :) No baby purchases, I have a baby shower coming up so once that is past we’ll evaluate what we still need and start looking for deals!

Babies growth and development status: Baby Si is over 3 lbs and sleeping more and more, which is part of the reason why I’ve been feeling less movement. He’s getting smarter, processing information and tracking light. He’s almost his birth length and the size of a pineapple!
