Baby Herschberger: Week 27
Better late than never right? Once I’m done working I anticipate not only posting these baby updates every Sunday (not Monday… or Tuesday… or Wednesday…) but also posting once or twice more throughout the week! I want to do some DIY posts on things I’ve made for around the house, I want to show how I’ve decorated rooms, and more!
So, the problem with posting late is I forget all about last week because I’ve got pregnancy brain and I’ve switched my focused on getting through this week. I’ll see if I can scrape together what all went on last week by looking at Facebook and Instagram. :)
I am in my final weeks of work. I started training my replacement this Monday, so last week I was trying to wrap stuff off, decide what projects were just going to shift over to my replacement, and get together some sort of training manual. I wasn’t able to get much done on the training manual but I did manage to get my inbox down to below 30 by shifting some to-do items that have been hanging out in there forever to the new person! When I work 2 days in a row from the office I’ve been trying to stay in town so I’m not driving back and forth so much and last week I did that one night and had dinner at the Nightingales! It was so fun to see them and catch up. They have 3 awesome little girls that Kyle and I thoroughly enjoy. The highlights included when their youngest, Junie, told me, “my daddy is a boy!”. Also, we took some group shots and I sent one to Kyle and asked Ellie what I should tell him and she said, “this is our picture we had to show. I like you! Do you like it?” Basically, super cute.
We watched Brewster (Kyle’s parents dog) over the weekend. Kyle got home late on Friday night from Vegas and after Brewster ran upstairs to greet him he bounded back downstairs and back into bed with me where he had been so Kyle snapped a picture.
On Saturday we slept WAY in, like 11:30am which I’m pretty sure has never happened. I did get up at 7:30 and was up for an hour or so because a lady came to do paperwork, blood and urine samples for my life insurance, but after she left I went back to bed and snoozed away. Kyle was exhausted and had been on Pacific time zone all week, so he was catching up and adjusting. After we got up we decided to go out for breakfast (now lunch) and then go into Warsaw so Kyle could do some work at church, I could do some work at work, and then we could walk around the village together. It was really nice to spend that time together, on the way out of town we did our grocery shopping and Kyle got excited about parking in the expectant mother spot. :)

On Sunday we tried a new church, liked it, but we’re still looking. I have had zero luck finding a church that has a Sunday night service - by that I mean a Sunday night service that is basically the same as their Sunday morning service. That was our preference so that we could attend church together as a family even during Kyle’s busy season when he’s gone Thursday AM through Sunday midday. But, if we can find a church we like, that does small groups maybe we could be a part of a Sunday night small group.
After church we headed up to Michigan to pick up my parents. We loaded up, went to the Udder Side and pigged out on ice cream since they had a gift certificate and then headed back to Indiana. That evening we had a really nice time hanging out together, Uncle Alan and Aunt Sharon came over, and Jared Jones and his parents stopped by too! Fun times.
«Pregnancy Update»
Weight gain: Well, at the midwife on Friday the scale showed that I have gained a total of 16 lbs. I don’t really feel bad about that, but I think it’s a little faster than what they would want, so when we (midwife and I) talked about weight gain I told her I really do want to start walking, but don’t really anticipate doing that until I’m done working in 2 weeks.
What I’ve been eating: Same old, same old, pretty much everything!
Baby/pregnancy purchases: Hmmm… I can’t remember! I don’t think I bought anything.
Babies growth and development status: Baby Si is over 2 lbs, and over 15 inches long - the size of a rutabaga! Kicks have become more regular, and all the phone apps keep saying he can hear me so I should talk to him, I haven’t really been doing that though.

On Thursday I was working from home, sitting at my desk and out of nowhere felt like I was falling/spinning and clutched the desk. I snapped out of it really quick but it freaked me out!

My back is really starting to bother me. Ugh.

I am seriously so excited to get my house in order. Like, I envision the day when I set up the folding table and clean out all the cupboards, take inventory, wipe the cabinets down, put things back (in a more organized fashion), make my freezer meal plan based some on stuff I already have, etc…
